The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its 2020 Emmy Award nominees today, and CTV Comedy Channel’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee have received nominations yet again. Even a worldwide pandemic couldn’t slow them down.

The Daily Show With Trevor Noah sits at 6 Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Writing For A Variety Series, Directing For A Variety Series, Short Form Nonfiction Or Reality Series, Picture Editing for Variety Programming, and Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special. In case you didn’t know, The Daily Show actually won the award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series in 2015 (back when Jon Stewart was hosting). The show was nominated in that category again in 2018 and 2019 but didn’t win, so hopefully third time proves to be the charm for Noah, the Daily Show correspondents, and the rest of the Daily Show team.

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee sits at 2 Emmy Award nominations and was also nominated for Outstanding Variety Talk Series and Writing For A Variety Series, alongside The Daily Show, for the fourth year in a row. Full Frontal won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special in 2017, so maybe this’ll finally be the year the show wins its second award.

Congratulations to Trevor Noah and Samantha Bee on their nominations. You can catch new episodes of The Daily Show Monday to Thursday at 11 p.m. ET, and new episodes of Full Frontal air every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
