We’re sure you all love Comedy Central’s famous celebrity roasts where comedians and other notable figures verbally lambast a willing target for our enjoyment. They’re totally fine and usually very funny, but it’s a bit tame, and there’s very little opportunity for the roastee to fight back except for a small window at the end.

If you’re thirsty for something a little more extreme then you’ve got some great news: Beginning July 28 at 10ep and running for four consecutive nights, Comedy will be airing JEFF ROSS PRESENTS ROAST BATTLE, a bracket-style insult-comedy slugfest featuring hardened road comics dueling it out in front of celebrity judges. The epic event will culminate in a special live broadcast of the finals on July 31 at 10ep from L’Astral at Just For Laughs in Montreal.
The epic battle will of course be helmed by Jeff Ross, with officiating from comic Brian Moses, and judgement from all-stars Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Anthony Jeselnik, and David Spade.
Battlers include our very own K. Trevor Wilson (Letterkenny), as well as Tom Ballard, Matthew Broussard, Jimmy Carr, Christi Chiello, Chris Cubas, Olivia Grace, Tony Hinchcliffe, Mike Lawrence, Ralphie May, Sam Morril, Mark Normand, Ms. Pat, Steve Rannazzisi, Earl Skakel, and Sarah Tiana.
Before the tournament begins you can get a feel for what to expect by checking out THE ROAD TO ROAST BATTLE, premiering Monday July 25, at 11:30ep. The special covers the Road To Roast Battle tour that made stops in three U.S. cities this past June.
We’ll be on the ground at Just For Laughs in Montreal for the whole shebang, so stay tuned to thecomednetwork.ca and all our social channels for updates and exclusives live from the battleground!
