Despite being a 27-year-old show, the animated classic The Simpsons still finds its way into headlines. Last month, the huge, searchable database Frinkiac was the latest Simpsons craze—which incidentally might help you out with this new viral prank.

People have been trolling local news station 7 News Australia by sending "tips" of events that sound story-worthy, but are then followed by hilarious Simpsons episode screencaps.

Aussies are to thank for this gem of a prank. It started with 7 News Australia but has inspired several copycats since being featured on
