Larry Wilmore used to be the "Senior Black Correspondent" on The Daily Show, so we’re pretty confident he’ll have no trouble slipping into his new role as host of The Nightly Show, premiering Monday, January 19 at 11:30ep on Comedy!

The show provides viewers with Larry Wilmore’s distinct point of view and comedic take on current events and pop culture. The series will feature a diverse panel of voices, providing a perspective largely missing in the late night television landscape. Sandwiched between The Daily Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! as part of Comedy's late night lineup, The Nightly Show will more than fill the void left by The Colbert Report

Larry recently did a Q&A at the Television Critics Assn. press tour, revealing that the show will be a hybrid between The Daily Show and Politically Incorrect. The first half of the show will be dedicated to the news of the day with the second half featuring a roundtable discussion. “The panel discussion will deconstruct events,” Wilmore said. “We’ll have a nice balance of the scripted element and the non-scripted.” Larry will be joined by contributors Shenaz Treasury, Mike Yard and Ricky Velez who will add perspective and comedic bits. Sounds good to us!
