Long before Conan was a late-night talk show staple, he was a writer on The Simpsons. One of his most memorable episodes for the animated show was Marge Vs. The Monorail, which featured a show-stopping musical number and guest Phil Hartman who voiced scam artist Lyle Lanley. To pay tribute to the late-Hartman, Conan made a special appearance at The Simpsons Take The Bowl fireworks finale in Hollywood.

“I can’t go anywhere, after 21 years in front of the camera, without someone in the crowd looking at me and going, ‘Monorail, man!’” Conan tells the audiences. He then joins the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles in performing the famous song, taking on Hartman’s role as Lyle.
