Darrin Rose is travelling across Canada to entertain ten cities on his My Dad’s Other Son comedy tour, kicking off September 12 in Halifax. After that he’ll follow a logical, cross-Canada path, making stops in Moncton, Saskatoon, Regina, London, Ottawa, Hamilton, Whistler, and Victoria before closing in Nanaimo on November 16. Tickets are already on sale so don’t wait until that flaky friend returns your text, buy a whole bunch and worry later about who’s going.
An Oshawa native, Rose and his older brother were raised by a single father, whose blue-collar values and lack of emotion informs much of Rose's comedic work, and spawned the sibling rivalry that lead to My Dad's Other Son. "My brother thought it was his duty to toughen me up to handle a cruel, vicious world," Rose says, "a world I only experienced while he was toughening me up for it." The show features new material about Parents Without Partners, cousins versus brothers, bros before hoes, and the time his brother threw him out of a moving car.
Rose’s previous two shows, What’s Potpurri? and Still Chasing Manhood were huge hits with audiences all over the place and with appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Just For Laughs, Comedy Now, and NBC's Last Comic Standing, the Match Game host has been in high demand. He’s booked opening spots on tours with John Pinette and Jeremy Hotz, as well as the top liner on the 2013 Just For Laughs Rat Pack national tour, with Tom Papa and Alonzo Bodden.
